Volunteering
In
our active and conscientious community, we know that people who want
to volunteer have a lot of choices when deciding on where to share
their talents and spend their time. That’s why we consider our volunteers
among our most valuable resources.
In fact, we recognize that our volunteers are not accessories to our facilities but essential members of our daily operation. They fill vital roles in administrative and support roles every day. In many cases, they bring years of career experience; in every case, they bring insight and compassion.
Our volunteer force makes valuable contributions: they staff The Gift Garden, DMH’s gift shop and on-going fundraiser for the DMH Auxiliary; they spread cheer by delivering cards and flowers to patients and employees; they console worried patients and guests; they greet and provide directions; they assist with administrative duties. In short, they foster an environment of care and compassion.
