Where your care counts
Trouble breathing
If
you’re having trouble breathing, it could be an early indicator
of more serious problems. Smoking, for example, is a well-known risk factor
for lung cancer. It's also the biggest cause of a lesser-known lung problem—chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). About 11 million Americans have
COPD, and more than 100,000 die from it every year, according to the American
Lung Association (ALA).
